I'm seeing the error message 'there is no external screen connected'

Modified on Tue, 24 Nov 2020 at 11:28 AM

This error message will appear when the APP loses connection with the external screen.  The class may or may not continue playing.  If a class has failed to start please follow the initial troubleshooting steps below:

Initial troubleshooting steps:

1. unplug and replug the Apple AV adapter that connects to the iPad and the HDMI cable that connects to the Apple adapter

2. force close the APP by swiping it away and off the screen and reopen the APP

The error message is a warning signal that some aspect of the AV setup is failing, the following provides some suggestions on potential fixes:

  1. Replace the Apple AV adapter (the wires within this cable are fragile and can break, especially if no strain relief is applied)
  2. Replace the HDMI cables
  3. Contact your AV provider to find out how to reset your EDID (or the device may need replacing)
  4. Ensure the correct input is selected on the external screen to receive the video signal.
